Ted Collier

Ted Collier is a visual artist, collector, gallerist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist living and working in St. Louis, Missouri and Los Angeles, California. His abstract paintings range from bold to subtle—from monochromatic to vibrantly colorful. Ted’s portfolio of work is incredibly diverse and represents various styles, but perhaps his most iconic works are his circles. As in nature, every sphere is unique and deliberate.

Ted finds inspiration all around him, but as an avid fly fisherman, he is particularly drawn to Missouri streams and rivers. You can recognize the influence of nature in the strokes, textures, and colors of his work. Ted also thrives in creating commission work for clients in their homes or businesses, often designing a piece based on the space in which it is to be hung. It is not uncommon for Ted to create multiple works for one buyer, developing a set of pieces that communicate with each other and the space they occupy.

In addition to painting anywhere from 4 to 15 hours a day in his studio, Ted also owns an award-winning restaurant chain, Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria with his wife, Katie. The couple is preparing to launch an online meal company, Vero Pizza & Pasta, in summer 2017, which will offer pizza and pasta to make at home. Of all the adventures of building a business and establishing himself as one of the most successful artists in the U.S., Ted finds giving back to the community the most rewarding. He supports the local art community, donating to organizations like St. Louis Art Works and the Children’s Hospital. Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria is renowned for its monthly give back program, donating thousands of dollars every single month to local charities. In the last few years, the couple has been able to donate over 100k to local organizations.

Ted’s work is collected all over the world including:

  • Nordstroms across North America

  • The Lennox Hotel

  • The Black Hawk Hotel

  • U.S. Paint Corporation

  • Many notable private collectors
